News and Weather Programme Motion Graphics Analysis

This motion graphic is the opening for BBC news, it basically follows a globe inside and out, displaying the capitals of countries as to where there are news reports mainly. The graphic uses a lot of colour rendering, a includes light flares, it is aiming to be quite a bright thing to watch and being nothing too special as it is mainly going to be viewed by an older age range. It also uses a lot of ring shapes constantly appearing on screen.

This graphic is the opening for Sky News, the graphic is mainly blue and bright, uses alot of colour rendering with a few light flares, it follows the shapes and stops on the headlines so the audience can see what is going on. It doesn't really have many effects, just a lot of movement and clear display as to what the viewer is watching and about to see. It also has text flying on screen and it has text put into real footage using a ghost effect.

This is the motion graphic for ITV news, it uses more basic effects and it is based within 3 colours white, grey and yellow. There is alot of colour rendering and shine in this motion graphic, there is also a mirror reflect effect and some light rays that appear over the images as the sequence opens. The Graphic follows different images, that are based on events from around the world then there are global images in the background, to show that they cover the world news. This is in HD.

Here is an example of an old 1990's motion graphic to introduce ITN news, as you can see it is rather basic, it uses a basic bold metallic font and some rotation movement on a gadient backgroud. Obviously because this is old it would not be in HD. I personally think that considering this is really old, it is quite impressive within the the reason that it all runs so smoothly.
